KoDA

KoDA

As PR Chair and member ofTufts’ Korean Dance Association’s executive board, I draft and send out weekly newsletters and announcements, lead dances, create promotional material, and edit our club’s videos.

Weekly Email Newsletterrs

Every week, I compile important information from the exectutive board meetings to send out in an organized, digestible email for general members of the club.

Photo-Cards

For our Fall 2023 club fair, I designed promotional photo-cards in the same format of K-pop photo-cards that they put in their albums. There were many iterations of the design before settling on the final format.

First Draft

  • Since the back of the card is quite small in person, what looks good onscreen can look cramped. The QR code also was too small to be scanned easily.

  • The brush that I used to write the text with was not opaque, which makes some of the text hard to read.

Third Draft

  • I got rid of unnecessary text and centered the social media text.

  • I made the QR Code to our LinkTree larger and more easy to scan.

Final Draft

  • KoDA’s email address at the time was very long, so this draft I was able to increase the legibility and ability to fit the text on the card by making he letters slightly thicker and bigger.

  • Again, I made the QR Code to our LinkTree larger and more easy to scan.

Videos

Since December 2023, I began editing footage for the club’s YouTube using Adobe Premier Pro. I learned from one of our club members and online tutorials.

Teddy Bear - STAYC

This was my first project in Adobe Premiere Pro. I had used iMovie and VideoStar to create and compile footage, but this was my first endeavor using Premiere Pro to edit footage. This project took 12 drafts to polish and finalize, but I learned all about key frames and using the software.

Rock With You - Seventeen

My third and most recent video project was “Rock With You” by Seventeen. I led this project with two other executive board members. This project took 10 drafts, and many exports since my Mac has trouble running Adobe Premier Pro.

Plot Twist - TWS

My fourth and most recent video project that I edited was “Plot Twist” by TWS. I led this project myself over the course of 8 weeks. This project took 8 drafts and my favorite part was the location change within the video.

Signature Bell

After seeing the videographer’s animated logo at the end of the video, I thought that I should create my own stamp.

Design Process

  • Sketch

My name is Belinda, but I go by Bel on campus, so I wanted my signature to be bell themed. My hair was also hot pink, so I picked that color that would also stand out on a white or black background.

  • Animation

I used Adobe After Effects to animate the bell and make it swing independent of the clapper inside.

  • Export

After animating the sketch, I exported the file with a black background and added a bell chiming sound that matched the timing of the ringing.
